religious holidays and "Move-In" dates for campus resident halls. See University of California policy.
To avoid conflicting with Rosh Hashanah, instruction for the 2014-15 academic year begins October 2. To accommodate this later start date,
the Winter holiday is set for December 22-January 1.
Rosh Hashanah observation is on a lunar calendar and thus does not have fixed dates. In 2015-16, instruction is schedule to begin
September 24, and the winter holiday will be December 12-January 1.
